Facility Guidelines

Use of Facility

We arc committed 10 a safe and respectful environment. Your courtesy and patience towards our staff and patrons is greatly appreciated.

The Outdoor pool may be closed at any time there is electrical activity (lightning) or continuous bud weather. It is not our policy to refund $.

Pool Adult / Child Ratios

All children under the age of 7 years most be accompanied in the water and kept within arms reach by a responsible person (minimum I6  years of age). It is recommended that a maximum of three children under 7 years be accompanied by one person. Children 7 years of age and over may be left unattended in a pool.

Tot Swim Wear Policy

All children 35 months of age and younger must wear a swim diaper (Little Swimmers) and plastic pants when using outdoor pools. Plastic pants are available for purchase at the concession or front.

Pool Snorkeling

The use of snorkelling equipment requires prior approval or the lifeguard. Customers coming into the pool must check with the Lifeguard as 10 whether they can use the snorkeling equipment. The lifeguard will consider the busyness of the pool and will test the person on their competence and expertise in using the snorkeling equipment. The lifeguard can at any lime refuse the use of the equipment.

Personal Inflatable Toys

Personal inflatable toys are permitted in the facility if capacity permits. Baby water wings and tube rings on small children are permitted provided they are within arms reach of a  responsible person (minimum 14 years of age). The use of inflatables requires prior approval of the lifeguard. Customers coming into the pool must check with the lifeguard as to whether they can use inflatables. The lifeguard can at any time refuse the use of the equipment.

Sanitation

Calgary Recreation’s Aquatic Facilities chlorinate their pool water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pool water is monitored by an automated sys­tem as well as by qualified staff taking a minimum of 4 water tests per day. Once per week a water sample is provided to Calgary Health Region for testing.  All facilities are cleaned and disinfected daily.

Behavior of Patrons

We reserve the right to require any patron to vacate the facility for abusive/inappropriate behavior, lan­guage or dress, use of alcohol, drugs or smoking.
