Jan 17, 2007Every year the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association gathers a number of Community volunteers together to participate in The City of Calgary’s annual Pathway and River Cleanup. This year, we are thinking about expanding the cleanup effort to include a community cleanup on the same day. Please vote on this and leave your comments or suggestions below. Thanks!

I would like to have a large combined event, but only if we get enough volunteers.
I think this is a wonderful idea! We usually have so many pathway cleanup volunteers that we are finished our section of pathway in far less than the time alotted. I also find that the pathway/river cleanup job can be a bit treacherous due to the thick underbrush and steep riverbanks; cleaning up in the playgrounds or along the sidewalks in the neighbourhood might make participation easier for people who aren’t quite as agile.
I think this would get a lot of people out to meet their neighbours, and working together would help foster some good community spirit. Count me in!
