Calgary Family Services is presenting “new and innovative programs to support family care providers”, through a series of suppport programs.

The first Session, entitled “Caring for a stroke survivor” will “…teach family caregivers of stroke survivors basic kills in assisting with activities of daily living.” If you find yourself caring for someone who has survived a stroke, you may find this program helpful.

There is a cost of $100.00 for this program, which includes a pre and post home visit from a Registered Nurse to assess individual requirements and assist with applying the skills learned in the home setting. Subsidies may be available for those unable to pay the full fee.

Dates for the program are November 12, 19 and 26, 2008 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and will be held at Calgary Family Services – 300, 906-8 Ave SW.
