Try Sportball and Have Fun!

Did you know that Sportball runs their popular programs for children at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Centre?

Sportball offers non-competitive sports instruction for children 16 months – 12 years old. Kids are introduced to 8 popular sports: soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, golf & football. Using developmentally appropriate methods to introduce, practice and refine gross motor skills. The programs reinforce the benefits of teamwork and skills development rather than the importance of winning, enabling children to gain the confidence and develop the social skills necessary to succeed in sport and life. We are now a recycling depot for used and unwanted CELL PHONES, PRINT & TONER CARTRIDGES and DIGITAL CAMERAS.

By recycling with the Think Recycle program, unwanted electronics will be refurbished, recycled or reused, creating a positive environmental impact and preventing these items from being dumped in landfills. Also, for every 24 qualifying electronics turned in, one tree is planted through Tree Canada. Everyone wins when we recycle!

Here at OOSC we aim to create a program where the individual needs of all our children can be met through a wide variety of creative, educational and recreational activities.  In recognizing each child as an individual we attempt to offer as diverse a range of activities as possible, so that developmental needs of each individual child can be met on a daily basis.  Through these choices we hope to enhance the physical, social, intellectual, creative and emotional wellbeing of our children in a safe and secure environment where they feel they have the room to grow and flourish.
